Part 2: Aurora's Return
3050 A.D.
Aurora looked out over the ledge, her sniper rifle in hand, waiting for her suit's onboard computer to notify her when her target was within range. Suddenly there was a small alarm and a cybernetic female voice.
A.I.: "Alert! Designated target now within firing range."
Aurora deactivated her helmet and it retracted into her armor. She felt extremely uncomfortable aiming with the HUD blocking her natural eyesight. She took aim at her target, and after a breif silence, took the shot. She then reactivated her helmet, scanning the area to be sure she had taken her target down.
A.I.: "No life signs detected. Target status: Eliminated."
Aurora then proceeded to activate her com system.
Aurora: "Aurora reporting in. The target has been neutralized."
Aion: "Great job Aurora! I think you've just earned all of next week off."
Aurora: "Thanks Aion but there's nothing for me to do."
Aion: "You're taking next week off. That's an order."
Aurora: "Yes sir!"
Aurora saluted in jest and deactivated her com. She laughed at the fact that her vacation was now mandatory. The laughter ended when she heard noises below her and the roof she was on suddenly collapsed. She hit the ground with a thud. Good thing her armor was well padded for short fall impacts. After getting back up she notice the reason for the roof the collapsing.
A fight had broken out between Agrona, a vampire that had been under her organizations watch for some time now, and a Chronotech Solaris drone. Given that Solaris drones register as a high threat level, Aurora proceeded to attack it. However it knocked her against the wall with little effort. It even managed to render Agrona unconscious. Aurora pulled out an HFEGR War Dragon and fired at the drone, which shattered to pieces as War Dragon's are known to pack a punch for such a small firearm.
Aurora holstered her weapon and went over towards Agrona, who had passed out, possibly due to the injuries she sustained. Aurora picked Agrona off the ground. She looked at her face and gently stroked her cheek.
Aurora: "She's beautiful."
But now see Agrona up close, Aurora quickly realized who she was. It came as both shock and happiness. She then uttered one name.
Aurora: "Talulla!"
